Tremella Elixir
TREMELLA / Bai Mu Er
tremella fuciformus
This elixir is made with permission using Arielle de Martinez's method. (Her website is here.) Her method utilizes alcohol, heat, and water to extract all the beneficial constituents from tremella. A mushroom supplement should be heated in order to release all the beneficial polysaccharides.
This elixir contains alcohol, reverse osmosis water, raw honey, and non-GMO, food-grade, palm-derived glycerin. The reverse osmosis water is "hungry" and seeks out minerals, pulling beneficial goodness from the mushrooms. The honey adds a touch of sweetness and medicinal qualities, and the small amount of glycerin helps to suspend the tremella so each dose is a balanced one. The alcohol is necessary for one of the extraction parts, but in the final dose it is a balanced amount of alcohol, water, honey, and glycerin.
ABOUT:
Tremella is a white/yellow mushroom that, when dried, resembles a sea sponge. It is nicknamed “Snow Fungus” and is a popular ingredient in Chinese Medicine. It is known as a beautifying mushroom and is even used in a tasty dessert soup to promote healthy, glowing skin.
Tremella helps to replenish and restore the body. Many believe that consuming it can lead to living a longer life.
It is immunomodulating and helps to raise an overactive immune system or lower an overactive one. Its polysaccharides have anticancer behavior and can help to promote cancer cell death. There are studies that show it works well with cancer treatments.
Tremella’s “beautifying” nickname comes from the antioxidants that can help fight aging at a cellular level. It can stimulate “Superoxide Dismutase” which is known to protect the skin and help to slow signs of cellular aging. It is more effective than Hyaluronic acid and holds 5x as much water as hyaluronic acid does. It can help promote plump, glowing skin when consumed daily. It helps skin elasticity, skin tone, can brighten complexion, and moisturizes and nourishes the skin.
It is a lung tonic and can be used to provide coolness and dampness to the lungs which can help with dry coughs and muscle spasms from coughing. It can help rehydrate congestion and allow it to come up and out of the body. Tremella has radio protective properties and can be used alongside cancer treatments to help reduce the damage of prolonged radiation.
Tremella is 90% polysaccharides and forms almost a jelly-like substance when in contact with water or when fresh. Tremella can be used to help heal the GI tract and allow for a healthy level of good bacteria to thrive in the GI tract. As a nutritive, tremella can replenish the body, build blood, and help with converting vitamin D in the body.
