ABOUT

This moisturizing butter can help provide your daily source of magnesium. When applied topically, it absorbs into the skin within 30 seconds. It can be used to relieve aching muscles, cramps, and tension in the neck or body, and can help with sleep support. It can also be used as a deodorant and applied to your belly for digestive support.

TEXTURE

It has the texture of actual butter. It is creamy, smooth, and silky, and goes on without feeling overly greasy or heavy.

SCENT PROFILE

  • Masala Chai — This smells like a cozy cup of chai with subtle yet sweet notes of spices and tea.

  • Lavender — This has an earthy version of the lavender scent we know and love! It’s very grounding and gentle, like the whole lavender plant.

INGREDIENTS

  • Organic cold-pressed jojoba oil

  • House-rendered tallow

  • Shea butter

  • USP-grade lanolin

  • Beeswax

  • Candelilla wax (a natural wax that acts as an emulsifier)

  • Magnesium chloride flakes

  • Fresh spring water from mountains near Redding, California

  • Geogard 221 (0.7%, an eco-certified preservative)

  • Herbs or spices (organic lavender buds, or Ceylon cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom)

NOTE: When water is mixed with oil, it creates the potential for bacterial growth, regardless of how clean or safely it was made. An actual preservative is needed if it will be stored at room temperature. Preservatives are NOT vitamin E or rosemary oil, as those do not inhibit bacterial growth. When working with water and oil, we wanted to avoid any reactions that occur when bacteria are introduced to the jar. This naturally happens each time the butter is scooped out with bare hands! We chose to use a clean, safe preservative because the benefits greatly outweigh the risks of bacterial contamination. We still recommend using clean hands to scoop out the magnesium butter, but you can rest easy knowing that no other bacteria will be introduced and grow in the butter!
