Revive - Scalp Oil

$24.00

You all loved our nourishing scalp spray hydrosol, so I created this matching herbal hair oil! Our hydrosol will be back in stock in late spring/early summer, so until then you can use this oil!

This oil is made with all organic or wildcrafted rosemary, peppermint leaf, nettle leaf, and calendula blooms and is infused into organic, cold-pressed jojoba oil.

ROSEMARY — This herb has been used for centuries and is a special part of many belief systems. It was used in Greece by students who braided it into their hair to help them study. During the Renaissance period, rosemary was used by herbalists for their patients and it was also used by the French for many ailments. It was also considered to be a symbol of Christ, as it was supposed to only grow to the age of 33 years and never grow taller, only wider. It boasts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. Rosemary can help to stimulate hair growth by improving circulation to the scalp. It has been shown in many studies to encourage hair growth in people of all ages. It is also a gentle support for headaches, helping to relieve tension. It can promote scalp health along with its other benefits!

PEPPERMINT — This herb is well-known for its strong and fresh scent. Peppermint is an invasive plant that can help with a wide variety of ailments when taken internally, and when used externally it can help to relieve rashes, provide a cooling effect, and help to soothe itchy skin. It can help to revitalize the scalp and promote healthy skin, which is important for hair growth. In one study it has been shown to increase dermal thickness, follicle number, and follicle depth when applied topically on the scalp. That study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4289931/) used peppermint essential oil which is a strong, highly isolated portion of the plant. In this hair oil, whole peppermint is utilized which yields a more potent, balanced version of the plant.

NETTLE LEAF — This stinging plant is rich in vitamins and minerals. Like peppermint and rosemary, stinging nettles can help to boost circulation when applied topically. Nettles contain antioxidants which can help encourage hair growth. It is an astringent that can help to gently cleanse the scalp and contains acids and fatty acids that can nourish the hair follicles and promote shiny hair. Nettle can also help to promote a healthy scalp. The vitamins and minerals found in nettles can help to coat the hair strands and promote healthy, shiny hair.

CALENDULA — A beautiful orange flower in the sunflower family, calendula is a powerful herb for skin support when used topically. Calendula can help to quickly heal wounds, soothe skin with its anti-inflammatory properties, and can help to promote a healthy scalp which is important for hair growth. Calendula can help promote follicle growth and can protect the hair strands as they grow.

Together these plants and flowers work to gently stimulate the scalp, encourage circulation, and encourage hair growth. The herbs are all infused into organic cold-pressed jojoba oil. It has a herby scent with the peppermint and rosemary coming through nicely. It has a beautiful, rich, green hue showing how potent the oil is!

To use: apply a few pumps (or enough to coat your scalp) to the palm of your hand and then massage the oil into your scalp with your fingertips. For best results, massage into the scalp for a few minutes. You can use this as an overnight or 20-minute treatment before you shower! You can also apply a few drops to your hair to help reduce frizz and encourage healthy shine.

  • As a little girl, I was fascinated with nature.

If you could peek into my past, you'd find a barefoot girl more comfortable when muddy, making mud villages, building treehouses, digging forts in the field, and crushing up flower petals to make perfume. I desired to be a nurse, or a doctor, when I grew up. My heart was always to help, to see a need, and to attempt to meet it. Keep reading here.
